CSC-KUT Scholarships Program for International Students in Japan
With the motive of rewarding the talent of Japanese students, Kochi University of Technology is offering the CSC-KUT Scholarship Program for the 2023-2024 academic year.
The award is a joint initiative of Kochi University of Technology and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and is only open to students or staff pursuing a PhD or PhD at a Chinese university. Scholarship recipients will receive tuition and admission fee exemption, living expenses assistance of 50,000 yen per month, and 150,000 yen for travel and initial living expenses, depending on the program they enter.

Applicants must have excellent academic performance and excellent bachelor’s and master’s degrees from reputable universities in China or other countries.
How to Apply for the CSC-KUT Scholarship Program
How to apply: Students interested in applying must complete an online pre-application form to be considered.
Document support: Students are required to submit the following documents to the university.
- Bachelor’s degree certificate in English or Japanese (original)
- Master’s degree transcript in English or Japanese (original)
- Master’s certificate in English or Japanese (original)
- A copy of the applicant’s master’s thesis in English
- Two signed letters of recommendation in English or Japanese

Admission requirements: Applicants must have a master’s degree from an accredited institution or a degree equivalent to a master’s degree offered at KUT from an accredited institution in China.

- IELTS – 5.5 to 6.0

CSC-KUT Scholarship Program Benefits
The winners will receive the following scholarships from Kochi University of Technology.
Ph.D. Students: Entrance examination fee 30,000 yen, admission fee 300,000 yen, tuition fee 535,800 yen/year exemption, monthly living expenses 50,000 yen, transportation and initial living expenses 150,000 yen.
Graduate students: Entrance examination fee 10,000 yen, admission fee 50,000 yen, tuition exemption.
