How to Gain Admission Using IJMB/JUPEB Instead of JAMB

This is to inform the general public on an alternative way to gain admission without JAMB. Therefore, it is very important to know what exactly IJMB and JUPEB are before you register for either one. Admission processing for all students is 100% guaranteed.

Both IJMB and JUPEB boards have the responsibility of conducting standard examinations for candidates, who have been exposed to a minimum of 8-10 months approved courses (Two Semesters).

  • IJMB:

Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) is an Approved, Proven & Certified Advanced level programme moderated by Ahmadu Bello University and having coordinating body in various tertiary institutions. IJMB was set up in 1974 under status 5 of the Ahmadu Bello University law to be run as an alternative ‘A’ level Examination for students or candidates who may wish to seek undergraduate admission in Ahmadu Bello University and other universities into 200Level.

  • JUPEB:

Just like IJMB, Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is equally an advanced level programme but it is being moderated by the University of Lagos instead. Successful candidates can use their certificate to apply for direct entry admission into 200 level in any university of their choice.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

To qualify for admission, the candidate must meet the following admission requirements:

  • Ordinary level results: Minimum of 5-credit in not more than 2-sittings. (Candidates awaiting ordinary level results can also apply)
  • Applicant’s passport photographs (6 copies).
  • Two printed copies of the ordinary level result – SSCE or GCE. (This is optional for a candidate applying with awaiting results.
  • Proof of payment of application form.

HOW MUCH ARE FORM AND FEES?

How much you pay for your A-Level programmes depends on where you obtain the form. One major factor determining how much you pay is location. The state your Study centre is located affects how much you pay. But at ASBA Studies Lagos, registration form for both IJMB and JUPEB cost N10,000
