Job Description
- Liaising with the area teams on marine logistics matters, and also monitors the receipt and dispensation of fuel, water and material at the locations.
- Ensuring marine equipment availability to the area team at the various locations
- To ensure and enforce seaworthiness of all crafts operating at the locations listed and hence improves availability of craft at locations.
- To ensure safe marine and stevedoring operations e.g. – moorings and berthing at the jetties, loading/ unloading of materials.
- To ensure that marine HSE MS policies are strictly adhered to at the jetties
- To monitor and control areas of avoidable losses due to boat operations e.g. fuel usage, optimal craft utilization etc.
- Managing fuel handling and accounting.
- Scheduling / Journey Management of boats in line with operations demands.
- Keep proper maintenance records of vessels and ensuring minimal disruption to production operations.
- To ensure high level of discipline of boat crew through professionalism.
Skills / Qualifications
- A minimum of Secondary School Leaving Certificate/West African School Certificate.
- Must have sea going experience as a Coxswain, Bosun on offshore vessels or Rivers Master/Quarter Master on Inshore vessels or has worked as Beach Master capacity. Must have experience in Behavioral safety and deployment / implementation of IOGP Life Saving Rules. Experience in coaching, mentoring, safety culture change and implementation of the safety Management Systems SMS.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Must have either River Master/Quarter Master certification or Efficient deck hand certification or Coxswain or Bosun certification. BOSIET and OSP are mandatory.
- Problem-solving, good analytical, and presentation skills.
