How To Calculate KUST Aggregate/Screening Score

Every aspirant candidate that participated in the Kano University of Science & Technology Post Utme / Screening must know how to calculate their aggregate score for confirmation. Follow the simple steps below to calculate your screening score

  • Divide your JAMB score by 8
  • Divide your post utme score by 2
  • After which you add both of them together.

For example; You score 300 in JAMB and 80 in post utme that means;

300/8 = 37.5
80/2 = 40
i.e 37.5 + 40 = 77.5

However, some institutions only use post utme result to admit candidates while some use O’level and Jamb result to determine student screening result.

For Universities and Polytechnics that use O’level result and Jamb Score to get an aggregate score. Below is the breakdown;

O\LEVEL SSCE (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) GRADING POINTS
GRADE POINT
A1 10
A2 (B2) 9
B3 8
C4 7
C5 6
C6 5
TOTAL OBTAINABLE 50 %

We all know that there are five major subjects required to study a particular course in the institutions. Let’s say am a science student and I want to study Biochemistry at the University of Lagos. The five major subjects I must pass are;

  • English Language which I have B2
  • Mathematics – A1
  • Chemistry – C4
  • Biology – B3
  • Physics – A1

So the calculation will be;

O’Level Result: 9+10+7+8+10 = 44
UTME Result: 250/8 = 31.25
Aggregate Score: 44 + 31.25 = 75.25
