This message is for the general public particularly all aspirants of Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH). They are hereby informed that the institution has announced the sale of application forms for admission into its pre-degree programme for the 2023/2024 academic session. This blog post provides detailed information about the requirements and application process for this programme.
About MAUTECH’s Pre-degree Programme
The pre-degree programme was established in response to the need for an intensive refresher course to prepare secondary school leavers for their first year at the university. The programme aims to provide opportunities for university education to applicants who couldn’t be admitted through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) processes.
The nine-month course, starting from October, offers teaching by experienced and dedicated lecturers from various relevant departments in the university. All pre-degree students are expected to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtain the National Minimum score determined by JAMB on a yearly basis before being admitted into any study programme at the university.
The programme’s academic standard is equivalent to that of JAMB and the university’s 100-Level curriculum. It’s important to note that the programme is non-residential, so students are expected to arrange for their accommodation off-campus.

The pre-degree programme offers courses in the science and management subjects required for admission into MAUTECH programmes. Science subjects include Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Technical drawing, English Language, and Mathematics.
